As much as all of us hate the idea of playing in the NIT we are not a blue blood who is "above" playing in it and getting young guys more experience is important.
The problem(s) with NET is once you are in a spot it's almost impossible to move up or down. Teams get cemented in a certain neighborhood whether they win or lose. It also over emphasizes being in a perceived strong conference regardless of actually winning. E.g. WVU who had huge losing streaks...
