OT: NY Yankees 2026 Season Thread

The mix of small ball and pop when they needed it has been encouraging to see. They executed well with 2 strikes and found ways to score a guy from 3rd with less than 2 outs. If they keep that same mentality and execute, they have a great shot to advance past the Rays.

OT: NY Yankees 2026 Season Thread

I wasn't aware of the absolute disparity of game 1 winners winning the wild card series (15 of 16). You have to like those historical odds if you're the Yankees, especially with their two best relievers not needing game action tonight.

Schlittler: 6.1 innings, 2 hits, 1 BB, 10 K Love how he shows up in October, especially against Boston.

I'm 47 and John Sterling was the only baseball soundtrack that I knew until a couple of years ago. It's definitely a sad day for Yankees fans, and baseball fans for that matter. He was 87 years, called over 5,000 consecutive games, 5 World Series titles, 2 (maybe 3, if he did the Oakland game a...

Raiders hold formal draft meeting with Rutgers QB Athan Kaliakmanis

I would love to see Athan get drafted, but wish him better than a black hole of a franchise that is the Raiders.

    OT: R.I.P. Chuck Norris

RIP Chuck. He lived a great long life and it's not too often that someone gets a series of jokes named for him that continue to grow for many years.

The Athletic predicting P4 head coaches in 2030

It's an interesting exercise by them. This was a limited free article for me (I get their daily emails). Here is their take on Rutgers... definitely an interesting possibility if Anthony wanted to come back to the college ranks. Rutgers Current: Greg Schiano (Year 7) The Athletic's Prediction

Gotta love the power so far in Spring Training. If he can just cut down on the K's, he'll be getting his shot at the big leagues very soon.

OT: Those suing for extra eligibility

From a self interest perspective, I totally get why a decent college talent would want to hold on as long as possible. Earning a few hundred thousand dollars a year in your early twenties vs a fraction of that in the real world is attractive. The problem is that it really hurts kids in high...

Bring on those spring temps! Even if it's just a short reprieve, we've earned it!

    OT: Westfield mom DUI

She definitely was on something as her reactions were odd and she had zero focus on what she was asked to do. If it's true that the cops got calls about her driving, then it was good that she was pulled over, especially because she was in a residential area. With that said, the first cop...

The blacktop here in Readington Township is fully covered, but the roadway is still mostly down to the pavement.

Basketball Rutgers Basketball blitzes Penn State early, wins second straight

With Maryland's remaining schedule, I feel better about staying above them in the standings. It feels like 6 conference wins (maybe 5) should keep RU out of the bottom 4.

    OT: Cards reselling for $300

Between selling an extra ticket to the game and the card, I've covered most of my regular season ticket. If the guys who bought those things made money on it too, then all the better. Gotta love capitalism.
