Top 5 Rutgers Point Guards from 1970-Present?

Did you just ... agree with yourself .... 5 years later?

Long, Dark Winter Ahead for Rutgers Men's Basketball? Don't Bet On It.

Only read the title, but the advice "don't bet on it" seems sound this year for Rutgers basketball.

BB Recruiting 2025 European Forward Denis Badalau commits to Rutgers Basketball

I expect Powers to play rotational minutes, if only as default minutes at 2G. At PG we have Davis, Mark, and (in case of emergency) Francis. At SG we have Powers and Zrno. That's pretty much it for guards. Zrno, as you say, projects as a catch and shoot wing who is not especially athletic...

Suggested analysis: A position-by-position comparison of last years vs this years. Minus Bailey/ Harper!!!

We have a lot of options from 3-5, but I'm interested in what we look like at the 1-2 spots. Davis: Averaged 23.1 mpg as a freshman on a guard-light team, and 18.0 mpg as a sophomore behind Harper. I'd expect him to start and carry the load at PG at the start of the season at the very least...

Suggested analysis: A position-by-position comparison of last years vs this years. Minus Bailey/ Harper!!!

    Roster sizes, as well as I can estimate without official measurements: 6-0/180 - Francis 6-2/175 - Mark 6-2/180 - Davis 6-5/210 - Powers 6-6/210 - Zrno 6-7/220 - Grant 6-7/235 - Buchanan 6-8/200 - Badalau 6-8/215 - Nwuli 6-9/210 - Dortch 6-9/235 - Ware 6-10/270 - Ogbole 6-11/215 - Fall...

OT: Who makes the BEST Pizza You’ve ever had?

My favorite pizza ever doesn't exist anymore. Back in the mid-90s, a place opened in Brick near where my grandmother lived. Big glass doored refrigerators behind the counter with jugs of homemade sauce. Phenomenal pizza. We went back the next year, and all the homemade stuff was gone - all...

OT: Who makes the BEST Pizza You’ve ever had?

Portnoy is popular, but always thought it was funny people give a crap about opinions on pizza from a guy who grew up in MA and went to college in MI. It'd be like me moving to the South and commenting on BBQ.

Buchanan and Francis - How "MIGHT" Their Skills Translate to the Big 10?

Everything cascades. Programs at the top are waiting for decisions - once that happens, they'll either grab the prospective NBA draft guys who stayed in college, or move onto the next best in the portal. Then the 2nd tier of teams will grab the next best players, and the 3rd tier.... and...

Buchanan and Francis - How "MIGHT" Their Skills Translate to the Big 10?

Dominoes may start to fall after the NBA draft deadline passes and teams know which players will/won't be available. Things should move more quickly at the top of the portal after that, and that would cascade down as teams try to snatch up the next best available player.

Buchanan and Francis - How "MIGHT" Their Skills Translate to the Big 10?

It isn't the supermarket - teams can't just pick players off the shelf that they can afford and put them in their cart. These guys also have to agree to come. Some players just want the bag - but many (especially the higher rated guys) want more than that. They may want an elite backcourt...

Buchanan and Francis - How "MIGHT" Their Skills Translate to the Big 10?

In Pike's time at Rutgers, he's started the season with 13 scholarship players just twice in 2023-24 (Antonio Chol saw 36 minutes across 7 games) and 2020-21 (Jaden Jones saw 11 minutes across 4 games). He's made comments in the past to the effect of not wanting too many guys on the roster...

Buchanan and Francis - How "MIGHT" Their Skills Translate to the Big 10?

Next date is June 15th, which is the date players have to remove their name from the NBA draft if they want to return to college. Lot of guys that are in the portal and also draft hopefuls - after 6/15, any who haven't withdrawn from the draft will be withdrawn from the portal.

Buchanan and Francis - How "MIGHT" Their Skills Translate to the Big 10?

I believe they changed it last year - grad transfers can enter the portal any time, provide it is before the end of the transfer window for their respective sport. Since the basketball portal is closed, I don't think there will be any additional grad transfers without exceptions (like a coach...

Buchanan and Francis - How "MIGHT" Their Skills Translate to the Big 10?

I didn't think grad transfers have a longer window anymore.
