Wrestling 2027 Point Boro recruit Jake Clayton commits to Rutgers Wrestling

Flaws in human behavior on full display across all RU threads. With that said, RU has struggled in every major sport so it’s not surprising. I remember back to the Leonard/Rice days and the sense of positivity, pride and hope was sooooooo different.

Wrestling 2027 Point Boro recruit Jake Clayton commits to Rutgers Wrestling

Of all the kids RU has brought in without the national accolades Clayton is the one that could be an AA before he graduates. Low mileage and committed to the gym. Put him in a D1 wrestling room and can jump levels real fast. IMO only concern is he has yet to live the grind as a 3-sport...

Rutgers doesn’t win enough because most of you don’t donate enough

Curious what people think would qualify as a meaningful or acceptable donation from Al or anyone on this thread…I’m guessing a wide range of opinions especially without knowing net worth or income levels.

“Huge” is definitely an overstatement (or perhaps sarcasm) if you are comparing him to the likes of a Jayden James. However, The kid can wrestle and is built for the sport. Physically he’s there. If he can embrace the wrestling grind he’s a kid with potential to do great things. But no doubt...

Rutgers doesn’t win enough because most of you don’t donate enough

As someone pointed out, watching players develop over their 4-5 years with the team used to be a huge part of why I liked college sports. Feeling a connection to the players/team drove engagement. Nowadays teams are held hostage at the end of every season and you don’t know who’s coming and...

He’s got all the tools. Assuming he can handle the mental grind, I’d expect him to surprise a lot of people.

The kid is a tank and great athlete. He’s got a really high ceiling. Probably an oversight but the article didn’t list DeGeorge as a 2027 commit.

Rutgers doesn’t win enough because most of you don’t donate enough

Thanks….so do AEF donations get funneled directly to athletes in the form of signing and retention payments?

Rutgers doesn’t win enough because most of you don’t donate enough

Rutgers Lax had a great season. Brecht should be coach of the year. One win against a top 20 team, finishing last in the B1G and unranked behind schools like BU and Loyola can all be blamed on lack of lax NIL funding and full scholarships.

Rutgers doesn’t win enough because most of you don’t donate enough

I must have missed the fine print because the AEF is pitched as a “tax-deductible, flexible funding for athletic scholarships, team equipment, and travel, with donors earning priority points for contributions” …”provides essential support for revenue sharing”…which I thought was different from...

Rutgers doesn’t win enough because most of you don’t donate enough

What makes NIL even more comical is you can’t even get a tax write-off which likely explains the lack of corporate engagement/support. Also, forget about education = not a single notable D1 football player was academically ineligible…few people I know with kids at big football schools say the...

    OT: Stock and Investment Thread

I let my winners run and sell losers rather quickly (the latter took me forever to learn); long term holds i’ll trim depending on how much it’s grown as a percentage of my portfolio; short term holds are largely driven by market momentum or the certain narratives. For my individual/taxable...

Rutgers Wrestling 2026 U.S. Open Thread

Wrestlers are toughest m’fers. Tapes up knee and goes right back out there. Wouldn’t be surprised if his elbow is also messed up. The youth movement in wrestling is incredible. It’s the result of the youth club scene blowing up last 10 years and wrestling becoming a true year round sport.

    OT: Stock and Investment Thread

Yeah total brain-fart I edited my post. It’s bad for Polymarket business and user engagement will start dropping if they feel like they are getting scammed by insiders meaning less fees for Polymarket.
