OT: We may win the World Cup in 2026

Really nice to see Balogun get that goal off the great pass by Weah, after having his earlier goal disallowed as he was offside. Great to see as we certainly need good striker play.

OT: We may win the World Cup in 2026

That's the kind of goal that will make Poch pull his hair out. Terrible misplay by Miles Robinson on the pass back to the keeper and then the brand new keeper completely muffed it by being very late to come out on the Senegalese player. Ugh.

Pulisic looks back in form. Great pass to Dest for the goal and clinical finish for his goal. Bad giveaway by Robinson led to the Senegal goal late in the 1st half by Mane (great goal off a great pass), but up 2-1 is nice against the #14 team in the FIFA rankings.

Agreed - I like Luna's ball skills and energy - wish he had more speed...

OT: We may win the World Cup in 2026

Agreed. Wish mildone were still posting about soccer, as he knows more about soccer (especially youth soccer) than anyone I know. There's no doubt that this is objectively the most "talented" team we've ever had simply based on the number of players playing well in the best leagues, but talent...

    OT: Bagging groceries

Yep and yep. And for the last 35+ years, I've used one very large, sturdy bag. And I also put the items on the conveyor belt in the general order I want to load them into the bag. If it weren't for produce that needs to be weighed, I imagine they could figure out a way to scan all the items...

    OT: Bagging groceries

We have a Whole Foods in downtown Metuchen and I haven't really noticed any big change over the past several years in bagging behavior there vs. Shop Rite or Wegman's or anywhere else really - most bag their own, but a decent amount don't. I've had a huge bag for 35+ years (it's better...

Basketball Ron & Dylan Harper / Ace Bailey - NBA Thread

High praise from Simmons. As many of us said, early on, he was destined to be an NBA star. Great to see.

I was Max Headroom for Halloween at a UPenn party in 1984, lol.

OT: Rutgers gonna Rutgers, graduation speaker cancelled

Agreed. There will always be positions well-known people take that some will dislike and in both this case and Rice's case, neither one said anything so extreme as to be disqualifying, IMO. I know Dean Cuitino decently well, being involved in several School of Eng'g activities, and have...

    OT: RIP Minor Bowl Games

Out of all the bowl cities we've been to, Toronto was my favorite - fantastic city and it wasn't even that cold.

OT: 2026 PGA Tour Thread PGA Championship Week

Getting $142K for finishing tied for 25th isn't a bad consolation prize, lol. Was a fun watch of the final 9 with Scheffler catching Fitzpatrick, but Fitzpatrick hitting an amazing 4-iron draw against the crosswind to 13' on the first playoff hole and making the putt to win, after Scheffler...

OT: 2026 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees

Equally shocked - thought she was as much of a lock as Phil Collins, as per my earlier post.

OT: 2026 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees

I love both with a slight preference for New Order, probably because they have a few more of my favorite songs: Age of Consent, Love Vigilantes and, possibly my all-time favorite song, Temptation.
