    Says a lot that a loss is considered "one small step" with this team. Not at all a knock on the OP (good analysis) but the bottom line is this isn't a tournament team and the goal this year is to get experience for the young guys in advance of (hopefully) a big NCAA run next year and beyond.

    Agree that taking a victory lap is stupid at this juncture. The knock on Fernandes has been related to his inconsistency. He needs to string together 4-5 good games in a row before anyone can say he's turned the corner.

    I was about to post the same thing, and I don't think Katz is wrong, either. It is what it is. This is a transition year. I'm going to casually watch the rest of the games knowing we have no chance at a tournament berth this year. Next season is obviously a much different story.

    Reminiscent of 2021-22

    No, there is not nearly enough scoring or rebounding on this year's team to seriously compete in the Big Ten. This is a transition year before a potentially historic season. I just hope we can keep everyone else together.
