    Also, NIL is separate from revenue share. The X post does not say whether this is just NIL or includes revenue share. Many have speculated that without football, Big East teams can share more revenue with hoops players than the Big 10 does. But, who knows?

    Dude, Nebraska is the exception that proves the rule. Nine teams made the tourney from the Big 10. EIGHT of them outspent RU by a wide margin. No one said money is the only thing, but it is fast becoming the most important factor.

    Money certainly does not guarantee success. But without it it is is very difficult to succeed. I suspect the elite 8 will be filled with teams who spent a lot on NIL, just as the conference champions did in each of the top 5 conferences.

    Some of these guys like Griffiths, Jones and Derkack transferred after only a year before they had a chance to develop, so they are really not great examples. Spencer was great for RU so he would support the OP’s argument. Spencer left for a bag and a shot at a natty.

    You may be tired of hearing it, but SJU was one of the absolute top spenders in the transfer portal last year, spending more than 3X what RU did. If you don’t think that money matters, you are not being honest with yourself.

    I hope you're right, but the transitive property has little place in college basketball and you are overlooking our actual matchup with UCLA, where they beat RU by 32 points only a couple of weeks ago! Based on that, and RU's improvement since then, I'd say UCLA 82- RU 70. Would love to be wrong!
