    It would not surprise me. If Miami is close to AAU status, getting in the B1G may help them in getting an invite. UVA and UNC would have to be shoe-ins. I just don’t see FSU or Clemson being close. I don’t know all the requirements for AAU status, but I remember Palms commenting about the lack of state support and funding as one of the issues as well as endowed chairs.

    I can tell you this ,is not a far fetched scenario. There are is movement behind the scenes. Obviously no guarantees when dealing with several school interests.

    A very good and trusted friend of mine is one of the Administration offices at Miami (not athletic dept) but as he tells me, just as in any workplace, not much stays a secret. However this time it is much closer to the vest than usual.

    Heard much the same....and that UNC and UVA would much prefer the B1G over the SEC or any other conference. Didn't hear the same about Miami, but considering their academics and administration it wouldn't surprise me at all. I don't think my source is as well connected as yours, but she does work in admin at TOSU.
