Purnell Swett High School Head Football Vacancy

At the last realignment, New Hanover was the largest 3A school with 1,643 students. Purnell Swett currently has less students than that. So, 3A might not be that much of a far fetched idea. That number includes the SoRob students.

Here we go again in Lumberton.....

The Swett coach did not resign, he was put in place as the interim. I assume for only this year. The Lumberton coach had no control of the team if his players are calling him by his first name.

    3Rivers 1A/2A Predictions

I think Whiteville, East Bladen and South Columbus will play a major role in who wins the championship.

    Purnell Swett-21 @ Douglas Byrd-13

Swett was struggling against Byrd last year and losing when Byrd lost their starting RB. He is in the midst of a tremendous rebuilding challenge.

    Purnell Swett-21 @ Douglas Byrd-13

You obviously don't know him or the situation at Byrd. He and his father have been to multiple state championship games at the 4A level.

    Purnell Swett-21 @ Douglas Byrd-13

Are you saying Mike Paroli is not a good football coach? I wouldn't be surprised at all if Byrd won.

Three Rivers Conference Predictions for 2018

I would think East Bladen, South Columbus and Whiteville will decide the champion as usual. Red Springs possibly. All others, slim chance.

Is 51 carries in a game too many carries for a high school running back?

In 2007 vs West Bladen, Bernard Williams RB at St. Pauls carried the ball 57 times (NC High School record) for 395 yards. SPHS lost 52-51. Bernard was 6'0 230 lbs and rushed for over 2,000 yards that season as a tailback in the I.
