Maybe he tried before but didn't have any takers. Don't forget his initial hires would have had more coaching experience then he had at the upper level schools.
What a horrible time it would be to be a HS recruit if this goes forward. The lower tier schools will be licking their chops at the players they will be able to get.
He needs to work on his on field leadership and not stand on the sidelines joking around after an interception or coming up short on a run for a first down.
