Iowa Spring Scrimmage set for 10:45 AM on April 25

this thread is making me nervous. I sure do hope that the 2nd string QB is ready, willing & able to go, because it sounds like we may need him sooner than you think.

*****3 Star OL Reilly Newman Commits*****

now if we can just get that big dude out of Grinnell. Maybe it is just a character weakness on my part, but I have never gotten over losing two 5-star O-linemanto Alabama in the last 13 years.

True Freshman Brad Fitzgibbon sets ALL-TIME squat record for Defensive Tackles at IOWA (650 lbs)

so, are we all basically saying that ther is hope for the defensive line this year? Just an awful lot of new/young/green faces, is my concern. but this thread gives me hope.

Myslinski or Pieper: Who should/will be our starting center?

It probably has been discussed ad nauseam so far this year, but I just cannot help my poor self. Iowa football is this severe addiction that I possess about 365 days a year. I promise not to bother you about my other addictions, diseases, and proclivities, though.

Myslinski or Pieper: Who should/will be our starting center?

I almost hope that Myslinski gets the starting center job for two reasons: 1) then Pieper could stay at his original position and not have to learn a new position and, at least in theory, be better; and, 2) I could be wrong, but doesn't Myslinski already have at least some experience playing...

of course any 10 is doable, but the question is, are YOU doable?

I am still patiently waiting for all this OL success at the NFL and college level to translate into more and more blue chip recruits.

    Roger Craig's Recruitment in 1978-1979

yes, I know, we had some good backs in the early '80s. Mosley, Phillips, Owen Gill, etc. It is just that Roger Craig was on a different level than the rest of them, and I have never been able to get over the fact that we did not get him. Heck, we might have one ALL of our games in the 1981...

    Roger Craig's Recruitment in 1978-1979

many thanks to all who replied. so, Craig was the 2nd best running back NATIONALLY? in 1979? I did not know that. I knew he was good, but didn't realize that good. I also never heard the story that he wanted to come to Iowa after his first year, and it's very hard to believe Hayden...

    Roger Craig's Recruitment in 1978-1979

a question for all my fellow old-timers out there: Did we come anywhere close to getting this guy? I sort of think not. He was probably the best back in the state that year, coming of out Davenport Central, class of 1979, and went on to do well at Nebraska (though I think they used him...

    Ranking B1G Head Coaches

that is an excellent question. I do not know the answer either.

    Predicting Iowa’s O-line in 2026

thx, Pinksizzle. I think you pretty confirmed what I thought was the case and told me about all I need to know about the matter.

    Predicting Iowa’s O-line in 2026

regarding Pieper, I noticed he is from Norfolk (that is the polite pronounciation) Nebraska. Does anybody know how we got him away from Nebraska? My guess is that he was not that highly rated in HS and probably another classic under-the-radar "steal" by KF & Company, but I do not know. If...

    My 2026 Iowa Season Prediction

besides the first three B1G games and Illinois, we really should not lose this year. that would put us 8-4 at worst. But, upsets happen. There is just too much youth/question marks in too many places to make me think 8 or 9 victories is our ceiling.
