OT: L7 Bassist Jennifer Finch Has Passed Away at 59

Saw Veruca Salt open for Live at Jones Beach. I thought they were good, but the crowd only wanted to hear Seether. L7 were great. There are better songs by them, but Pretend We're Dead is probably their most famous one. This is my favorite song by them.

    OT: Corn on the Cob

It's funny that you posted this as I may have actually had corn from there this past week. I'm not actually sure because my wife stopped at a place in Ringoes while getting my daughter to horseback riding and then going food shopping. The corn was excellent, so I'm going to give them the...

OT: RU Alum Matt Pinfield Thread- updated 7/16/2026

I think you're underestimating those who might care. We get a lot of participation in pretty much any type of music thread. Summer is just the dead time for the board. Growing up, I got a tremendous musical education from both 120 Minutes and Headbangers Ball.

Agreed. Corn snobs are real people and I'm proud to be one of them.

OT: Major Heatwave To Roast New Jersey

Worked outside at summer camp this week. Thursday was probably the worst day I've ever experienced there when it comes to the weather. Shockingly, nobody passed out and we had no signs of heat exhaustion among the staff or kids. We drilled those kids to drink water and stay in the shade all...

The divide is so wide, I doubt there will be any type of 2027 season with any real credibility.

Well fortunately for them, they only have to play one of them. A new catcher and a couple of relievers will work wonders for this team in the playoffs.

I got a kick out of your post because it's a total Freudian slip. Who's worse, Dotel or Doval? Both suck pretty equally in my view.

Gotta stretch out these heater as long as possible until Judge is able to come back and anchor the lineup. I'm reading a lot of articles that Cashman is gonna be aggressive at the deadline to upgrade talent as he sees the opportunity to win with the American League so weak. Definitely need a...

They need Volpe until Judge comes back. Caballero is important to provide starting and outfield depth. Once he can go back to the infield full time, Volpe will end up in the minors. The quality catchers were all traded away or fizzled out. Augustin Ramirez was the biggest miss as he's been...

AI says that the average batting average for the top 32 catchers in baseball is .257. So we need to shoot for something like that without the position becoming poor calling games.
