My Take: Fall Back and Spring Ahead

I hope everyone that transfers, starts practicing with another team, gets shut down and transfers back knows that voluntarily leaving the state is in fact a decision in their control and will likely not be looked upon favorably upon return. So if you’re planning on leaving just to play a sport...

    My Advise....JUCO over Transferring

The top JUCO programs are warehouses for academic non qualifiers so getting a spot means competing against some of the best talent in the country. Unless you are really truly a late bloomer who can use a year or two to develop physically a better route is usually to go D2, D3 or NAIA. You’re...

    Seniors

responding to two different points. First yes, you can sometimes leverage your fcs offers into top tier fbs offers. Usually as a walk on after signing day. Pulled two of those off at Lake Forest this spring. Second. Early enrollment is a great over signing tactic. If there are scholarships...

    Seniors

If you’re offered an early enrollment spot You’re at the top of the heap. Hard to say no to that one. Doesn’t mean you’re going to play freshmen year. But certainly gives you a leg upon academics and training.

My Take: Fall Back and Spring Ahead

Honestly it depends how a class fills out. With all the knee jerk commitments that happened this spring there will likely be a lot of movement before early signing day. Depending on where the season lands for FBS and FCS there may be changes to regular signing day. And there is always the...

IHSA to defer to IDPH ISBE Governors office on all Return to Play guidelines

NCAA issued their return to sports guidelines yesterday. Many things they address have been discussed here. Most lower level programs will not be able to adhere to these guidelines. Many have already postponed their seasons. And the colleges are much better equipped to monitor and...

    Red Shirt an incoming freshman

He likely only got into mater dei because he repeated. That and worked with one of the best Qb trainers in the country during his home school year. A lot went into the making of that young man.

    Red Shirt an incoming freshman

It’s really common in the south and west. Sometimes 8-10 kids a year ar a single school in football and basketball powerhouse regions. Some of the parochial schools in California have even higher numbers. A friend just ran into it in east coast lacrosse too. So common is the right word. I worked...
