MLAX - RU vs JHU Last play in regulation

Kelly’s decision making and execution there were elite. Having the wherewithal to drive to the cage and hold the slider to give Mongillo space for a step down was masterful. Also Mongillo hanging back slightly rather than streaking down the field took tremendous discipline. And that shot….

No. 17/18 Men’s Lacrosse Hosted Johns Hopkins Sunday

Great, gutsy win! Did what were had to do and should build confidence going forward. Two biggest criticisms I’ve had about this team have been poor off ball movement / lack of any offensive identity other than hero ball and very low shooting percentage. I believe we have addressed the first...

    Saturday men's lacrosse scores

PSU took it to OSU 13-6. Penn State seems to have the Buckeyes number.

No. 16/17 Men’s Lacrosse Hosts No. 7 Ohio State Saturday in Big Ten Opener

I don’t like the OSU coach much but I have to give him credit. Benching Fyock was the difference in this game. He stays in we win going away. The backup stood on his ear. Not a lot of coaches would pull the reigning goalie of the year for giving up 3 goals in a half. He obviously knows his players.

Men's Lacrosse this year was always about conference play.

I don’t see a lot of upside to playing Albany. They are not in an area we recruit a ton, they are not an easy out but a win doesn’t do a lot for us and a loss would definitely hurt. OOC we need either a marquee name, an easy win or an area we recruit heavily, ideally some combination of those...

Men’s Lacrosse returned to SHI Stadium Saturday to host Bellarmine

The off ball movement has been light years ahead of where it’s been for a while. When you have a talent like Kurdyla, having an offense that knows how to move without the ball makes him almost impossible to defend. He is going to beat most defenders 1v1 so you have to slide early. But he has...

Men’s Lacrosse returned to SHI Stadium Saturday to host Bellarmine

Hopefully Princeton was a wake up call. Granted, SJU and Bellarmine were overmatched, but this is the best our offense has looked since the FF run.m, and this year’s 6 on 6 might be better. That team was lethal in transition and had guys that could win 1:1 almost at will but wasn’t all that...

No. 19 Men’s Lacrosse Faces St. John’s Tuesday

The reason LI schools aren’t better are the schools themselves. first off, while St. John’s is technically on Long Island, Queens is not LI. Most kids aren’t dreaming of spending their college years in Queens. It is a decent enough school but the campus leaves a lot to be desired. Up until not...

Men’s Lacrosse, after four games - tough

That’s right I forgot that he was playing out of position. Need to get him back.

Men’s Lacrosse, after four games - tough

I would guess that if / when Aiello comes back Vorang would move to X? Still not ideal but Aiello is a prototypical lefty hammer, Kurdyla could obviously do It but you want him above GLE as much as possible and Vorang is probably our second best offensive weapon at this this point so you don’t...

    2/23 Polls

None of the teams we’ve played are pushovers. Jax is a scrappy up and coming program and they seem to pull off upsets and push top teams to the limit every year. Army is army. SBU always has talent but their challenge is that to LI kids want to leave the island but SBU is picking up the best of...

No. 19 Rutgers Men’s Lacrosse Begins Homestand With Villanova

With a relatively young team, new offensive coordinator and breaking in some new pieces on defense, we just needs to get through the OOC schedule relatively unscathed and so far we’re doing that. Defense is already coming together but the offense will take longer. You can see the concepts they...

    Saturday Men's lacrosse

I’m curious to see how NIL is going to affect the Ivies. The official policy is that they are only allowing legit endorsement deals but not pay to play through donors or collectives and they are supposedly policing any deals over $2k. However they also have a no athletic scholarship policy that...
