    This is an excellent signing by the Fever. She can rebound, shoot it, and has a great basketball IQ. At Michigan State she was tremendous.

    The men's college game is okay but the NBA has become non-watchable. All they do is dunk, play little or no defense, and chuck up 3's after which they celebrate for at least ten seconds. Team basketball is non-existent. Raising the basket a foot in the NBA would be a big help.

    I don't see CC playing any more than 2 or 3 more years especially if injuries keep occurring. She's financially set for life and it looks like she would be a lock for a TV career after she quits playing.

    Not a good sign for CC. Just five games in and she can't play. Hope she's not becoming injury prone in just her third season.

    Fever win today if CC hits 7-8 threes. Without Boston they have no inside scoring or rebounding threat. This is a team that can win only by putting up big offensive numbers by their guards.

    Fever desperately need a backup center and a starting power forward that can defend and rebound. Unfortunately they have neither.

    CC finished with 8 assists but it should have been at least 12 had layups and bunnies been converted. Her points and assists accounted for half of the Fever's 102 points. Not a bad night in spite of her poor shooting percentage.

    Fever have a very weak bench and are lacking a backup to Boston. End result is you wind up having KM and CC taking 53 shots because no one else can score.

    And yet they all tune in to watch her! Last Sunday's Indy-Dallas game drew a huge 2.4 million viewers. The big matchup that followed between Vegas and Phoenix, a rematch of last year's championship game, drew only half that many.

    The Fever's defense is non-existent. I've watched a couple of their pre-season games and also Saturday's opener with the same observation - they don't play defense. They'll win some games by outscoring teams but come playoff time they won't survive very long.

    In addition to his football talent, Grono is one helluva' of a team player that will be great in the locker room. Hope he gets a shot.
