Yep. Bottom line is putting the ball in the basket and stopping to other team from doing so. I don't care who plays or how many minutes as long as the team excels at this and is winning 75+ percent of their games.
Yes, if the team came to them and said she isn't a good fit, even those coaches would strongly consider that. That's what a good leader does. Culture is everything.
She had ample opportunities as a true freshman. The thing is many iowa players have had a freshman to sophomore bump and I was expecting the same for her. Oh well, next woman in.
Go look at some of the box scores from the big games from Caitlin Clark era. The five that got you there and that the coach trusts in played the vast majority of minutes. For example, in the Uconn final four game bench only played 6 and 1/2 minutes. It's not that abnormal
One or two made free throws away from a sweet sixteen, 51( and possibly more) wins over two seasons and a runner up finish in the BIG and people thing the sky is falling. Please...
Yep and they blew a 4 point lead with a minute remaining and missed a few crucial shots that game as well. It happens. It's not fun but we move on and hope for better in future seasons. Which is what happened after 2022.
I agree. I think she actually did a great job coaching this season with the injuries and youth. Lack of shooting and that one player that can take over a game did them in. Tough ending to the season but future looks bright.
I do that sometimes.... No big deal. Not tonight though. I watched every minute and made my kids watch also because I remember watching at their age that last time Iowa was in the sweet 16.
