    Both times Galax has won the Class 1 Final, the Maroon Tide won 7 to 6 in 2015 over Riverheads and last Saturday over Essex without their offense ever getting inside the Trojans 25 yard line.     The Essex Trojans beat the Sussex Central Tigers 24 to 6 in the first game of the regular season in Sussex on August 25. Then the Tigers won 12 straight games until the Altavista Colonels came to Sussex last Friday and won the Region 1B Championship by a score of 22 to 16.

    Appomattox v Lord Botetourt forfeit

    Update: Appomattox AD Tim Peterson and Lord Botetourt AD Tim Fulton mutually agreed that the game would be recorded as a 2-0 forfeit win for the Cavaliers and a forfeit loss for the Raiders. Director of Communications Matt McCall confirmed that the VHSL was then notified of the forfeiture.
