    looked like <100 people in the stands for the women's matches and <500 for the men's. way more people in the crowd for the 4 final X matches last friday.

    i feel like i'm partly to blame. i did one of their market research interviews last summer (i think) when they were developing the nextgen. i remember saying "i think i like the old track or old floarena better" a lot, but i guess it wasn't enough.

    Sounds like the US Open is going to just be the World Team Trials for 2027 for Olympic weights only, and there are only a few more opportunities to qualify for it, at least domestically: 2026 Farrell, 2027 NCAA's, Last Chance Qualifier. I suppose you could go get a gold at the Friendship...

    same here. if you go to your account and "upgrade" to the new annual plan, it says it will credit you back the difference between your old rate and the new rate. i can't yet say whether it actually does that or not, but at least that's what it's telling me

    especially now that you can only deduct 90% of losses. now if you play 2 $10k hands of blackjack and win one and lose one, you have to pay tax on you $1k of "profit"

    i just figured that currently, most athletes would graduate and move on to college on a normal schedule, knowing that they had a regular redshirt and a medical redshirt (or multiple) if needed. but now that it's 5 in 5 no matter what, there's more incentive to delay when that starts, if possible
