Next head football coach at Montgomery Central

I have no internal knowledge of what is going on at MC. I have only heard rumors that the current administration does not put a high priority on finding and/or retaining quality coaching. If that is indeed the case, I find it odd that the county administration would support that. They've...

Next head football coach at Montgomery Central

I’m hoping the best for Montgomery Central. It’s really kind of becoming a place where “you can’t win here”. And no, this past year’s schedule full of terrible non-conference opponents does not mean that they are headed in the right direction.

    First draft of realignment

The realignment twice prior had a 10 team Central Carolina Conference (2A). At least there were 11 games back then, which allowed for two non-conference games. Now that the limit is 10 games, a 9 team conference is in that exact same situation. I don't like it.

One could argue that conferences aren't even necessary with the small divisions. Everyone will make the playoffs for football, right? Or will they start with a 32 team bracket? That being said, I can't imagine how much work it would be to schedule without a conference.

Good point. I would hope that things like these would be considered during the "appeals/concerns" portion of the process. I can only imagine how cross-eyed I'd be after trying to put all of these schools in conferences... However, if it were my paid job, I would hopefully be able to spend a...

Today's best comment about realignment on Facebook (no indication of which school they were speaking of) "It's not fair that we've been put in a conference with teams that have more talent than we do"

This happened some years ago when S. Caldwell won their split conference with one overall win (against the only other 4A team). Back then, they were seeded amongst the other conference champs and hosted a first round game (record 1-10). They were beaten soundly. Soon after, a rule was put...

With the rate of growth, especially in the metro areas, I think every two years is wise. It would also help appease some of the schools who might end up in an unfavorable travel conference. Waiting four years for a change is pretty miserable.

    Possible conferences in the west

Football gate comprises the majority of athletic budget in most every school. I've been to some schools as of late that honestly need a good away crowd to make ends meet. I don't hate the $10 idea. Gotta keep things in the black, especially if you have a weak booster club.

    Possible conferences in the west

Sorry to hijack the thread... But I know that there are some Randolph County homes with Thomasville addresses. Do the city limits reach over the county line or is that just for postal purposes? I grew up in Davidson County with a Winston-Salem address just down the road from my Davidson County...

This is quite possibly the worst conglomeration of schools for a split conference. You have literally put a linear conference together here. Central Academy is over 90 miles from the northern schools on this list. Split conferences are for shortening distances.

    Possible conferences in the west

I root for the city school districts. I know they are up against a rock and a hard place. I've heard from folks that Thomasville City Schools are flirting with a forced takeover from NCDPI. It is hard to rebound from that.

    Possible conferences in the west

I know your stance on the district lines, and I don't disagree with you. I can't get behind the entirety of the city limits being the district. I mean, EDHS, Brown middle school and at least one elementary school (perhaps two) have been annexed into Thomasville City. It's a mess, and it...

    Possible conferences in the west

Do you have any numbers as to how many TCS high schoolers attend "local-ish" charter schools? I know there are no charter high schools in Davidson County, but do you lose many kids to Phoenix, NCLA, Uwharrie, etc? None of those play football, but I've often wondered since Thomasville is closer...
