    In this case, I really don't think the player could be expected to be thinking that they have 2 TO's and there is only about 1: 20 left so if I go down on the 1, we can run out the clock, etc. Having said that, I always wonder why the defense catches the ball when the opposing team throws...

    I am curious if we have actually seen an increase in coaches abruptly retiring at the start of a season? Dean Smith retired on October 9, 1997 at the start of the team's preseason practice so it isn't unheard of. It has been posted that Pearl retired abruptly in 2025 and Bennett in 2024.
