    Hoggard-New Hanover Rivalry

For sure Hoggard was in the Fayetteville conference for many years in the 70s. Their last year in the conference was 1978-1979 school year. Hoggard was always damn good but there was usually someone from Fayetteville just a notch better. I do remember controversy one year in that Hoggard went...

    Grimsley @ Varina (VA) 10/2

I saw film of this game last year. It was very competitive. The Varina QB really impressed me and they seemed to have alot of size. I hope Grimsley wins.

    Hoggard-New Hanover Rivalry

Did they play each other non conference back in the bulk of the 1970s, when Hoggard for whatever reason was in the conference with all the Fayetteville schools.

    Metro 6A/7A - Week 6

Grimsley will face a very strong Varina (VA) team next week. Varina gave them by far their most competitive game last year.

Looks like Chambers may be a threat this year.

Hough vs Green Run 9/19 3pm game

Green Run is currently unbeaten and on like a 63 game winning streak in their conference (Beach District). Despite that I dont believe they have a state title to show for it, seemingly losing to tough competition come state playoffs.I saw something about the quarterback from Pheobus transferring...

    Post scores for 7A/8A 9/18

I dont understand why Hoke County has played two nonconference games against Union County schools, primarily due to distance involved in travel.

    Score updates for 7A/8A 9/11

Leads me to believe McFadden knew something negative was brewing at Indy and realized he had taken them as far as they were going to go and got out at the right time.

    GnG 71st vs Hoke Co

71st will likely beat them badly. I dont expect it to be close. McLaurin is likely to improve Hoke gradually but its too early to expect major improvement at Hoke.

    Hough vs Providence Day 9/4

Didn't Billy Wiggins transfer to Indy from West Charlotte back in the day?

Mallard Creek vs Buford ( GA ) 9/4

Mallard Creek offense gave up 3 defensive touchdowns to the Buford defense in the first half, the first 3 TDs Buford scored came from their defense. No way to overcome that.

    Rolesville vs Richmond

What was the outcome of this game?

    Hough vs Providence Day 9/4

Not a Hough Homer but they do play Green Run from VA. Hough did beat Highland Springs last year. Hough also beat Dutch Fork in 2023 and played Byrnes at least twice before they broke through.

Mallard Creek at Maury ( VA) 8/28

From what I read in Charlotte newspaper Maury was stopped on the final drive around the Mallard Creek 10 yard line. They needed only a FG to win but must not have any confidence at all in their kicker, because they scored 3 TDs with successful 2 point conversions for 24 points. On their last TD...

Mallard Creek at Maury ( VA) 8/28

MC beats Maury 31 to 30 final score according to scorestream. Could not reconnect with my friend at the game for verification but its final according to scorestream. Maury is now 0-4 against North Carolina teams despite all their recent success in Virginia.
