    I’ve taken many turkeys in my lite. The Merriams are by far the prettiest. Hunting Merriams out west and seeing them fan and strut never gets old. This was the group of birds on my archery hunt a few days ago. ❤️❤️❤️ 16 mature toms in all 😊.

    I believe you are correct and 800 may be on the low end. You’re packing out back straps and roasts. The heaviest is probably the hide and skull.

    Just did a quick check of regulations: grizzly or brown bear. You only need to pack out the hide and skull anytime during the year. Black bear… hide, skull and meat , January to June otherwise only hide and skull. into summer the meat is not tasty and may be parasite infected.

    Alaska regs. are different. Before a certain date the meat must be taken. After a certain date the taking of the meat is not necessary.
