Pay for Play Now Legal, House Settlement Approved

What a disaster. We are systematically destroying everything that made America great. Welcome to the world where nothing matters but money.

Correct and it could reverse next year. Correct to look at the operating income line to get a better sense. They shouldn’t necessarily be profitable but of course they would prefer to break even or run a slight profit. The main point is nearly all colleges and ADs lost money or make no profit...

I understand this and agree. That’s kind of the point and why this treating Rutgers like a business that should pay players beyond its core mission is stupid. I was just correcting you including non operating income inclusion in the formula.

Non operating like including the market value gain of the endowment should not be considered profit and therefore they do operate at a loss. They can’t use the gain to fund operations and it’s also highly volatile. There is a reason there is an operating income line item.

As it should. He attends the classes and uses facilities. It’s his pro rata cost.

Agreed It’s a non profit. There is no profit expected. Most schools have achieved that. Now it’s run like a business because some believe students are employees too and should get paid. Well They were paid but people convoluted free school as a right and not comp.

They make a good point. Having sports creates an unrecognizable value to the university. Though does it matter for Northwestern? Kids who go there don’t care. The more important point is universities lose money on athletics. Period. Not only Rutgers.

So basically dump all sports for hoops and basketball. That’s good and fair to the rest of society. The courts decision and NCAA management has been a disaster.

Imagine you charged 20 dollars for students to attend? Imagine tickets were the same as pro sports? Imagine if attendance was equivalent to pro sports?

Maybe 50 million more from BIG at most over time makes this a 42 million hole without expenses increasing. And you want the rest of the student who earned entrance for academics to pay the guys who got entrance because they can run faster more money?
  14. P

    RU Deficit

Sorry but won’t be enough to close a 92 million gap. Not close.
