    Went by train from Alabama to Wisconsin in the late '70s. I was a kid and don't recall much of the trip except that it was 48 hours in an unairconditioned train car with no sleeper opportunity (we were poor) before the dawn of portable digital entertainment devices.

    Yeah it’s not going that well. From my perch inside one of the commercial leaders in this space I can say the Wall Street pressure for instant payoff is crippling customer-focused innovation. We get less of the latter as the federal government retreats in fear.

    A buddy talked me into going to the game tonight. I have really, really bad luck attending NU/UW bouts. NIT blowout back in 2012 or whatever. Big Ten football opener this year. Lineup challenges tonight.

    Are Peacock games available for after-the-fact viewing?

    The dumbest thing about Peacock (besides the atrocious playback controls) is the fact that games cannot be time-shifted partially. You can replay a completed stream. You cannot, say, start watching from the beginning of the game 45 mins after it started.

    Yet another streaming service lacking critical features for sports fans. There is no way to mark a game to “record” and watch later. Yes, a replay is available after the broadcast ends, but the only way to start playback from the beginning DURING the broadcast is to start live and then scroll...

    Peacock MUST fix the playback controls. It’s impossible to shuttle past commercials (most of which are unsold anyway).

    Aside from the expense, Peacock just absolutely sucks for sports viewing. There is no way to move forward or backward in increments. It is very hard to skip commercials and even halftime. I hate Peacock most of all. Gimme OwlVision even.
