BB Recruiting Rutgers Basketball adds Slovenian wing Martin Tonejc

Smith shot 277 2s and 141 3s. I think his deficient athleticism and track record against HM comp suggest that ratio will be about even this year, but I’d hardly call him a 3-point specialist.

    Guess the rotation

    1. Francis (24), Mark (8), Davis (8) 2. Jones (22), Francis (8), Mark (6), Powers (4) 3. Smith (28), Buchanan (6), Jones (6) 4. Sydnor (26), Buchanan (14) 5. Gurdak (28), Buca (8), Ware/Snydor/Deep foul trouble (4) I think we get a couple of small ball rotations a game with Mark-Francis-Jones...

BB Recruiting Coastal Carolina transfer G Rasheed Jones commits to Rutgers

Good things generally happened when Tariq had the ball last season — high assist rate, staggeringly low turnover rate and a decent enough TS% based on his high FTRate. In lineups with Lino and TQ, I think it would be good to find Lino in transition. But I tend to believe Tariq would be a more...

    Derek Simpson 2.0

The upshot with Lino is that he’s excellent at getting to the rim and greatly improved at finishing there. Raises his ceiling as far as offensive efficiency, even if the shooting never totally materializes

OT: Should Hurley have gotten a Technical Foul?

It’s doubly funny because they picked out Malachi Smith (former Rutgers transfer target lol) as the player that came off the bench, but he was on the floor for that possession.

    Student Athlete Act of 2026

Yea I really don’t care about the NIL aspect, and once advertising and television money became significant it really became unfair. I also wonder if that can be used as a motivating factor to keep players in one spot (like NCAA-sanctioned bonus on % of career earnings for four year players)

    Student Athlete Act of 2026

Before wasn’t it that all transfers (aside from grad transfers ) had to sit out a year.

    NIL inflation

Max Frazier had a great year and is an impressive athlete, but I don’t think 6-9 is tall enough to play the 5 in the B1G. His 6.9% block rate is good enough but that was in the horrible NEC, don’t really think that would translate to HM ball. Plus, there’s a chance Sellers gets a new job this...

    Francis

No doubt, I put that data together to attest to the tremendous workload Francis has carried this season. And true shooting % doesn't even capture Francis' remarkably low TO% and his rapidly improving assist rate. Overall offensive rating of 118.4 is better than DH and just a tick below Cam for...

    Francis

https://www.datawrapper.de/_/oWPls/ Filtered for players with >65% of minutes played and a usage rate over 19%. He's certainly not as efficient as his Big Ten peers, but at the same time, very few other players are in his stratosphere for usage rate. Hopefully, with some more talent, he'll be...

    Players asked about next season

Kind of remarkable how assuredly Francis has answered that question. Also a nice transfer portal selling point I figure to have him so vocally in lockstep with the program

Basketball Rutgers Basketball's season ends with loss to UCLA in Big Ten Tournament

I thought this was Ogbole's best game, all things considered. It wasn't the most overwhelming statistical performance, but the most telling number is 32 minutes played. Seemed like he operated with more confidence on both ends and was really impressive moving his feet in the instances where he...

    RAPID REACTION - BTT Minnesota

Surging UCLA team for sure, No. 1 offense in America over their last five. Wish we had Nwuli, I’m worried about guarding the 4 spot in particular. 80% of UCLAs minutes there go to Eric Dailey (6’8) or Tyler Bilodeau (6’9), neither of whom I think Grant can really check

Basketball Francis, second-half defense powers Rutgers to Big Ten Tournament win

It was a particularly brutal matchup for Lino, not to worried about him

Basketball Francis, second-half defense powers Rutgers to Big Ten Tournament win

We went to this matchup zone at times in the second half that allowed us to switch very easily on the DHO actions they liked. Honestly thought we should have stuck with it longer. Best win of the year
