    Game 33 - Carolina 8 BC 7 - Series Secured

To call that play simply a 4-1 put out understates it's significance. That play was the defensive play of the game. Paulsen ranged far to his right and the ball still hopped over his head. It looked like it was headed to right field but Gavin never stopped. Backing up Paulsen, he fielded it...

    Game 33 - Carolina 8 BC 7 - Series Secured

He's been playing a fantastic 3B. He brings MIF range to the corner so he gets to balls that many 3B's don't reach. He has the quick release of a shortstop and he's willing to stand in and take the ball in the chest to knock it down, not panic, then has the hose to still get the runner.

State beating ND 7-3 is not a pounding and Louisville losing to dook 6-3 is not getting smoked. State did not face Radel for ND, that happens tonight. State's overall record against the schedule they've played says they've been a little above average up to this point.

Nugent's Nuggets: UNC Completes the Sweep of ND

Over the last 10 games Cooper is hitting .355 (11/31), 3 HR, 9 runs scored, 7 RBI, 8 BB, and 5 HBP. It's starting to look less like Cooper's on a heater and more like he's made the adjustment in pitch recognition from JC to D1.

Rules say a fielder can be charged with an error even if they don't the ball if, in the estimation of the scorer, the play could have been made with ordinary effort.

    Game 26 - Carolina 9 South Carolina 1

In the fall the coaches determined that in order for Walker to take the next step, he needed to add a true change up to give him a three pitch mix. As good as his slider is/was along with his nice FB (he touched 95 against Louisville), he needed a third pitch to get to the next...

    Sawyer Black

I'm not saying it will be, but it absolutely could be worse. In 12 plate appearances he's had 5K's, 1 BB, and 1 base hit. He has an OBP of .167, so he's struggled to have productive ab's. For better or for worse, guys who haven't separated themselves from their competition at their position...

    South Carolina Fires Paul Mainieri

Whether Schnall would or wouldn't leave Coastal, I think he'd be a match for them. He also could realistically expect to double his $500K salary at the very least, never mind the resources that would be at his disposal in Columbia. As the bigger schools get their boosters/donors more and more...

    South Carolina Fires Paul Mainieri

I saw list of potential candidates that included Tim Corbin from Vanderbilt, Dan McDonnell, Cliff Godwin, and Coastal's coach, Kevin Schnall. From what I've seen of Schnall, he looks like match for their fan base.

Starter vs Reliever Debate w Coach Forbes

That's right out of the sabermetrics handbook. Use your closer/best reliever in the highest leverage situations, not just end of game. Coach Fox and now Forbes, have adhered to that thought process for a number of years.
