    Sterling vs Boylan

    I'd give Boylan a slight edge. They are typically in 6A or 7A so the drop down to 5A is a small advantage that they have. Their RB's are good! I don't think Sterling has seen two backs like Malone and Henderson this year.

    Freeport Pretzel Football

    It's been very challenging competing with the larger schools in the league. We've (former Pretz assistant) always struggled up front and to be honest, that's where we've lost quite a few games. Quite a few teams are able to two-platoon where as we've had in some years, 6-8 guys go both ways...

    What Chicago area players are starting in college?

    Not quite Chicagoland, but Freeport has Steve Mcshane at WIU, Travis Buckwalter at EIU, Zeke Vandenburgh at ISU and Malique Johnson at UAB. Mcshane and Johnson are starting! Not bad for a 5A in the middle of nowhere in NW Illinois!

    Major Dedmond QB Freeport 1158 yards Rushing. 9.4 YPC 14 TD's 622 Passing 3 TD's Conference MVP on O. First QB to ever lead league in rushing.

    IHSA Propsoes New Football Playoff Expansion

    DISTRICTS! That solves the conference jumping. Iowa and Minnesota don’t seem to have an issue with it.

    It doesn’t appear ACT’s or a better conference made a difference here. Sterling dominates from start to finish. Congrats to Sterling!

    Districts vs Conferences

    I believe in Ohio they have a split Private/Public, but I'm not sure if they have districts or not. In Minnesota I know they have districts and they are all together. I believe they have districts in Iowa as well and the Publics and Privates are together.

    Philips transfers

    "Special programs" LOL...the same special programs that Rockford Auburn uses...Gifted, ROTC, and homelessness program even though many kids live in the same house for 4 years. Amazing how some of these programs work for these schools.
