I’d also love to also see Hope Munson involved in the attack. Will be fun to see what the coaching staff comes up with.

A little surprised that Bella was called up as a defender. I know Damon started her as a wing back early in the season, but I thought she was more effective as an attacking mid. Will be interesting to see where she plays next season.

Nice to see that they recruited two experienced players to replace Tessa and Kate. But there will be competition for those spots. I do see BG moving up the field to improve her development and versatility, assuming she doesn’t go pro to one of the new expansion teams.

Very similar script to how they beat us. Dominated by Vandy for much of the game, gave up a late goat, equalized very late on a set piece, then won on a PK in overtime. Some years, you are blessed by the soccer gods and things go your way. Hope they enjoy the ride.

Thanks for the info! I didn’t know we had 10+ committed for next year. Roster management is tough!

Based on the current roster and incoming freshman, are there any player types that the staff should target in the transfer portal? I’d like to see two players with more size and aerial skills, one in the midfield and the other up front. But I think they have a good base if most come back.

I doubt that Kennedy was coached to shift left away from the right post almost to the keeper position on that play. Bad mistake to allow a wide open back post, regardless of whether you are playing zone or W2W.

Corner kick was a comedy of errors. Faasse and Kennedy both left their assignments to drift centrally for no reason, resulting in a header by a stationary player to an opened corner. Kennedy was then slow in recovery, blocking the goalie from coming across and grabbing the rebound off the post...

Player on the back post left the opening and also blocked Johanna.

Any chance the Damon makes any adjustments to the offense on Monday? Or do we love always forcing the ball to a double teamed Olivia Thomas?

I believe the last 10 minute low block bunker play was due to lack of substitutions (only 2 were used). The girls were gassed while TN kept bringing in fresh legs. But it worked, so I guess Nahas knows best.

I think this is good draw for us. In the opener, we outshot them 2:1, but the O’Rourke girl made 2 good plays/goalie misplays. If we beat them this time, it will be a great confidence booster.

I love that they played direct to Faasse rather than the stagnant slow build-up style. The goal was a highlight play and she also had 3-4 other excellent open opportunities. Give us more of that! They did look tired in the second half but worked hard to hold on.

I hope Kennedy and Malsom fly back tomorrow. USA dominated possession with that endless back and forth between the center backs, but they couldn’t finish up front despite many decent chances. NED goalie looked far superior to ours.

I hope most players stay, but after a disappointing season, lack of player development or use of subs, and influx of higher ranked recruits potentially taking your spot, I believe we’ll see a number of current players seeking better opportunities elsewhere. The Carolina mystique is fleeting.
