    Pre-season all conference

In the spring of 2025, Moren fired her recruiting coordinator, complaining publicly that Indiana wasn’t getting the players they should. IU then hired Colten Thompson from Alabama as recruiting coordinator in April 2025. He has been a recruiting home run. Two of IU’s ‘27 commitments are...

    Pre-season all conference

Usually the preseason all conference teams and the coaches and media predictions for the top 5 BIG teams (in order) are released on the same day. Wonder if they scrapped the preseason top 5 predictions.

    2027 Recruiting

Hartwell will be a good test of Iowa's evaluation and development skills. Jan has been right before about undervalued post prospects. And Hartwell has great size and defensive potential, per scouting reports. Still, Hartwell is an interesting recruit for Iowa to be interested in at this time...

    The recruitment of Khalia Hartwell

Agree. Also, allure of the SEC, especially to SEC-area recruits. Top Big Ten area recruits frequently head to the SEC. But top SEC area recruits seldom head to traditional BIG schools (not sure Hartwell qualifies as a top SEC area recruit).

    Big Ten WBB Previews

The Dribble Drive podcast has started their Big Ten WBB previews. The podcast is by the IU and MSU radio guys (they’re not big Iowa fans, usually). They do 2 teams per podcast and have extended interviews with each head coach about their teams. Many of the BIG coaches are enjoyable to listen...

    2027 Recruiting

Not sure I would call Seubert “now listed as # 4 CG.” That ranking by 24/7 is a pre-summer ranking, and 24/7 has yet to rank more than 58 players. Will be interesting to see where Seubert ranks when 24/7 updates and expands their rankings. ESPN has repeatedly updated their rankings to reflect...

Highlights of the USA FIBA 3x3 world cup

Are you worried at all about Carnegie's efficiency? Carnegie’s pre-Iowa profile is very un-Iowa like. She has been a low-efficiency-high-volume 3-pt shooter. Iowa really helped Lucy improve as a 3-pt shooter in terms of efficiency. Hope they can do the same with Carnegie. Against SEC...

    Expectations?

Not sure why people are recycling The Athletic’s pre-portal rankings when The Athletic substantially revised their Way-too-Early rankings post-portal. Here is an article discussing their post-portal rankings, and the post-portal changes. Iowa dropped to # 14 in the Athletic’s post-portal...

    2027 Recruiting

24/7 and Rivals have not updated their rankings to reflect this summer’s play and USA Basketball tryouts. Very interested to see what they do with Hartwell when they update their rankings given Hartwell’s free fall in the ESPN rankings from # 27 in April to # 95 at the end of the summer.

    Iowa WBB Podcast Recommendations

Not an Iowa WBB-only Podcast, but a Big Ten WBB podcast by the IU and MSU radio voices. They have started their team previews, first with MSU and UCLA. Most of the BIG head coaches appear on this podcast for their team’s preview.

    2027 Recruiting

Mya Wilson discussion from Gopher board this morning regarding $$$ as reason for OSU commit: “Mya Wilson has said to people that, in her mind, it felt like Minnesota and Iowa pulled away and were not as engaged with her during the last month or so of her recruitment. I know I saw Coach Dawn and...
