    UNC Volleyball 2026-2027

I checked the score as we lost 2nd set, then was busy until the match already ended. Pretty surprised to see the 3-2 win, then shocked to find out they were down 24-20 in the 3rd. Wild. Major props to the team. Important win, really needed this one as a gettable quality win.

    Wrestling 2026-2027

Great stuff. A big theme of the interview was sustainability of the program. There is still wrestling at UNC 40 years after Koll wrestled here and he wants that to be the case 40 years from now. So I would expect that scholarship endowments are a big priority. NIL and salaries are great, but...

Thanks for posting the Coach Koll interview. He’s very good at these…funny, and also providing a lot of information. On specific wrestlers, it was interesting he said Simcox is fully healthy “for the first time” and he expects a big jump. And that Hepner is a guy who needs to know he is the...

    Men's Golf 2026-2027

True but crazy thing is we were +9 the last two holes. So it was actually another excellent round except for the end. Like you said, really good performance at this elite tournament. There were ranked teams at +40’s. We finished +12. Great to see.

    UNC Women's Tennis 2026-2027

There have been a lot of retirements in this tournament. It’s been a ton of tennis day after day so hopefully the coaches are just being really cautious and telling the athletes to stop if they cramp up or something like that. Speaking of a lot of tennis, Tatum Evans has now won her fourth...

    UNC Women's Tennis 2026-2027

Results were not as great yesterday but obviously round of 32 singles includes most of the top players in the country. Khirin won and will play at Noon today trying to punch her ticket to the national tournament. The other 3 who lost are in the consi’s and would need to win 5 matches (I...

    UNC Women's Tennis 2026-2027

4-0 today in singles. Four players through to round of 32. Impressive. Dook has 3, State and a few others have 2. Frey with another dominant win. She plays the 2-seed tomorrow.

    UNC Women's Tennis 2026-2027

As for the international ringer discussion, just one additional point is these are not players that are choosing college over full-blown, top-level WTA tournament schedules. Their choice is versus personally-funding a satellite tournament schedule where the goal is not to make a profit but to...

    UNC Women's Tennis 2026-2027

I think this is really good having 4 in the main draw. Kudos to Nguyen for winning two matches and justifying her bye into the Qualifying draw (ie the top 80 seeded players….all behind that had to be in prequalifying). And kudos to Frey for winning 5 matches in dominant fashion. Straight sets...

    UNC Women's Tennis 2026-2027

Today was first round of the qualifying draw. As usual, the ITA websites are sort of a mess, and limited format info. But I believe that our 4 winners today need to win one more tomorrow to make it into the Main Draw. Believe Evans is already in the main draw, as you said. Frey had already...

    Men's Tennis 2026-2027

Thanks for the writeup, I was curious. Agree with your point that we should have a comprehensive increase in quality. Had a good day today, 6-1 in early stage play at ITa All America.

    UNC Men's Soccer 2026-2027

This team has been uninspiring for a lot of years now. It sucks because we are an attractive destination and have a strong history, augmented by the women’s legacy. We really should be better than mediocre.

Excellent information! Intermat has 9 Tar Heel weights ranked, including 6 in the top 15. It’s just an early look at “on paper” standings but nice to see us get so much love. The Koll / Ramos recruiting combo is bearing fruit.
