    T Just a FYI - the NCHSAA recently changed the passing requirement. Rather than “pass 3” it’s now “pass 70%.” If a kid only takes 3 courses, they have to pass all 3 to be eligible. If they take 4, they have to pass 3, etc.

    Actually, East Surry isn’t “similar size.” Realistically, ES should be playing 1A, and is smaller than several current 1A’s, but the last realignment messed them over. Doesn’t help with your argument against WC (actually makes it worse). Just providing context.

    East scored on a long TD pass, popped a long run, and again on a QB scramble run. Had a chance 1st and goal but didn’t convert. Some positive things for the Cards but also several things that need to be cleaned up. Still, a solid win v. a solid club and perennial contender.

    I don’t think so. Daddy Whitt might be a good technical coach (for the select few kids he chooses to focus on coaching), but he will NOT be missed in regards to culture and staff camaraderie. Long term, this is a case of addition by subtraction.
