Just so people know this match is the semis at the Southern Scuffle which was held at UNC-Greensboro. They dropped wrestling after that season and UTC-Chattanooga has hosted the Scuffle since then, This tournament was the coming out party for Ruth and Taylor an we tied Cornell for the team title...
Agree and Ruth was not be handled by Much before he got hurt. They traded TDs in the 1st period so before Much starting turning an injured Ruth that match was pretty even.
Great event as always. Ono won the academic award for the wrestler in his 3rd year of eligibility so maybe that means he will get two years instead of one.
I like the 3 point TD but I have seen no evidence that has created more action except that there are more major decisions and Tech Falls because they are easier to achieve when catch and release nets you 2 points instead of just 1 point.
Looking at just this year does not make any sense and I bet the coaches would agree. Red shirting Blaze and Duke for the 2026-27 season makes sense because we do not need their points and have others that will score almost as many points and it also means they will still be around for 2029-2030...
