PSU vs Cornell (Collegiate Duals) Match Thread

All your Cornell history here: https://cornellbigred.com/sports/2009/9/11/WREST_0911090632.aspx I did enjoy the match. As I knew would happen, it took me a while to get to sleep afterwards. At least I didn't yell at the TV and disturb those sleeping in the house. The team is mostly freshman...

PSU vs Cornell (Collegiate Duals) Match Thread

One year, Vito, Yianni, and Jacori Teemer decided to wrestle in different weight classes (Vito at 138!) in order to each win a state title. Mission accomplished!

I've said it elsewhere: the version of Arujau we saw yesterday beats the version of Spencer we saw yesterday. (I'm soooo tempted to go over to the Hawkeye Report and say the same)

    Match Notes for Collegiate Duals

Yianni beat Nick Lee in their only meeting, as he did in the matches against everyone else I listed. That's what happens when you are 72-1, and riding a 53-match win streak. And I typically don't make predictions: it's tough to make predictions, especially about the future.

    Match Notes for Collegiate Duals

Bold, to predict what Meredith (twice), Nick Lee, McKenna (twice), Sasso, Heil, and so many others have failed to do, and who is 0-2 against common opponents. Very bold.

    Collegiate Duals in FL

No idea who is Corby, but Cornell's match notes indicate he's at 133. Not sure if I posted this here, but these are Vito's words:

Greg seems small for 125, unfortunately. Great scrambler, as the last name might suggest. Vito said this week that 125 is his best weight, and he is comfortable there. I guess that Cornell is still trying to figure out where best he should go, depending on how the alternatives fare at...

    Collegiate Duals in FL

Cornell's finals are the next couple of days, then everyone leaves for a month. They have cancelled a couple of Sunday basketball games on campus.

I don't know if the same happens when wrestling Wick, but most guys don't take down against Darmstadt, and Darmstadt often takes top in the third period. I remember him shutting out Willie Miklus 9-0 with about 6:00 riding time his freshman year.

    Collegiate Duals in FL

Looks like Yianni will be at 149 going forward (Handlovic is doing pretty well at 141), and I wouldn't be surprised to see Vito at 125 for the season (Greg D at 125 needs some work). Still lots of moving parts in Ithaca. If none of those matches occur, then hopefully Darmstadt is at 197...

    Collegiate Duals in FL

I'm guessing there is a reason there aren't any tournaments after the New Year's weekend for a reason. You have Midlands and Southern Scuffle, and then it is duals until conference tourneys, right?
