I was told from a guy that watched multiple practices from both and no comparison between him and Pope. One was excellent and the other just bragging on how he was the best offensive mind ever.
Every once in a while you would think some wouldn't want to uproot their family and move again. Coaching is a funny profession. It's like nothing else matters besides trying to get to the top level. The heck with the kids and the wife..
Noah and Perry both had P5 offers. I don't mind giving a Kentucky boy a scholarship, but this isn't going to be a pickup that lets us win a national title next year.. Congratulations kid. This could be a life changing offer with future career choices.
JQ was unplayable at the end of games. He was making one out of every three free throws last year and he had a year to practice and still making one out of three. It was going to be "hack a shack" if he kept playing. It's probably why he quit. Same flaws he had the year before were not fixed.
JQ was an athlete. He had no basketball skills besides being more athletic. When you can only make one out of three free throws with nobody guarding you, then you are not very skilled basketball wise. I personally think that his skill set hadn't improved at all and he was just giving NBA teams...
Indiana thought the same thing. Hired a good coach with what was considered baggage back then and let him go. Now he is at somewhat of a power school and going to final fours. Indiana is barely making the tournament most years. You are only one bad hire or one bad fire of going to the middle...
His sub patterns are bad. He will have a good lineup that is working and take them out for no reason. That's why the bench seems so bad. It's going good and he puts them back on the bench.
The run they made was with Garrison and Johnson on the floor. The other three were starters.. They outscored us in the 2nd half with starters playing the significant minutes. We are just not very good.
