For those in the Lacrosse World

Very sad news about Chris. Bocklet's are a great family. Chris's older brothers were coaching my son this weekend (Fl tourney) right before this happened. He seems to be doing better and has been moved to a facility in Atlanta. He has a long road ahead of him.

    Youth LAX question

One last point, at ages 10-11 crease slides can be bit tough for the boys to comprehend. This depends on how advanced the boys are. If you are starting from scratch with beginner/intermediate players, you might want to start out with a real aggressive adjacent slide concept so they can get...

    Youth LAX question

Couldn't agree more. To add to families point, you are doing kids a disservice if you never teach them how to play man to man defense (from the perspective of building a complete player).

    RU Lax Commit

BTW, looks like Groff is a flat arc guy. I know the flat arc is still a debate (I am not a goalie coach!) but it seems to really work for the bigger guys. He's 6"4 I believe.

    RU Lax Commit

I coach club and run a 400 kid rec program, thought about coaching HS but wouldn't work with my job. Fall club lax in Co generally means trips to Vegas or Cali. Starting to pick up now that football & soccer are over. Its exceedingly lucrative for the club teams which are attached to...

    RU Lax Commit

Agree, doesn't look super comfortable off hand. To my knowledge, Resolute is the main club in Ohio. A few of the national clubs have toe holds there but nothing major to speak of. It's a nice gimmick for colleges to run clubs, but a total conflict of interest. Particularly when there is no...

MLAX Recruit Ranked #25 for 2020 Class

To that point, you never see Maryland club teams in the World Series of youth lacrosse because its age based.

    Some newbie lax questions

As a follow up top the shot clock question. It's only a matter of time before the shot clock is taken out of the ref's hands. The ref's I talk to hate the discretionary aspect. How it will instituted, and the duration are the debates. For example, should it start after a goalie save/turnover...

Article on RUMLAX player Casey Rose

Casey was reffing one of my son's tournaments last summer. Talked a bit, super nice kid. Would love to have RU come out and play Denver next year.

    Lax RPI

Yep. Coach left and their star player graduated (Dylan Molloy). Haven't been able to put the pieces back together. I credit those Brown teams (and Brecht) with help bringing back the uptempo style of play.

    Tough LAX news

    Was it the same knee?

    Lax Announcement

Fair point. Moreover, if they are that dominant (everyone is dominant in their highlight reels!), you could argue they might develop bad habits by staying their senior year and playing against inferior competition. My hesitation is more based on maturity than anything but every kid is...

    Lax Announcement

Mixed feelings on this. If this is the new normal, then so be it and kuddos to the staff for acting. I hate to see kids miss their senior year. I know football does it but its not an apples to apples comparison. The Coyne kid's highlights are ridiculous.
