    BACATOLOGY 3/9 NCAA TOURNEY OUTLOOK

That’s why I’m confident Auburn gets in. It might be a hot take but I don’t think it’s totally out of the question they could avoid Dayton, especially considering that the bubble is not great this year. The metrics are really in their favor and I think the committee rewards the really tough SOS

    BACATOLOGY 3/9 NCAA TOURNEY OUTLOOK

I think Auburn will get in based on WAB, NET, and wins over the field (not sure if I agree with it though). I think Oklahoma would be an interesting team if they got in over a team like Texas, finished the year strong and had decent metrics

    2/16: Just a taste of 2026 Bacatology

Think OSU and Indiana effectively trade places after both games today. Still feel that head-to-head game to finish the regular season will be one of (if not the biggest) deciding factor for both teams

Basketball Rutgers blows 20-point lead, barely hangs on at Maryland

Yeah JMike off to a good start in this game, making plays

That OSU/Indiana to close out the regular season is going to have massive tourney implications. It could possibly be a win-and-in for both teams OSU likely now has a Q1 win, so that result really helps the Buckeyes

Agreed, the only contingency is if they beat Purdue, the other win probably needs to be PSU. Can't afford to have a bad loss at this stage to go with one Quad 1 win OSU also needs to hope that Wisconsin climbs to a Quad 1 game. That would help their resume a lot

Need 14M in rev share & NIL for a competitive roster

I understand that RU probably does need $12+ million to feel comfortable about fielding NCAA-caliber roster, but what are the estimated MBB budgets for other B1G teams competing for NCAA spots (i.e. Wisconsin, Iowa, UCLA, Indiana, USC, OSU)? I thought the best MBB teams this year were spending...

Ohio St. with another close loss to MSU today. Feel like OSU needs to beat PSU, and either Purdue or both of Iowa/Indiana to at least have decent chances on Selection Sunday

Another sobering shot selection chart via Richie

Agreed. People that don’t like RU taking mid-range shots are looking at the analytics too much. It should actually be encouraged for the players that make them consistently and in which it elevates their game (i.e. Francis, Buchanan, Powers, and maybe Nwuli). I’d be curious to see how many...

Who would you pick as your Final Four as of now? Depending on seeding I have Michigan, Duke, Houston and Kansas

    SGA on Rutgers???

Do you think they would be close? SGA is astronomically better at this point than any player in CBB. He would require at least a double team every single possession, so RU would be getting wide open 3s or layups every time on offense

    SGA on Rutgers???

This is a really interesting one. RU (KenPom #147) and Valparaiso (KenPom #152) are close metrics-wise . . . Do you think RU would win the national championship if Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was on the team as constructed?

    2025-26 vs 2023-24 - Defense

Agreed defense can be better but I think the best gameplan with RU’s personnel is to play that press defense and be aggressive to try to force a lot of turnovers. There will be times for sure they give up points but they will also have more opportunities on fast breaks for easier buckets...

    2025-26 vs 2023-24 - Defense

I think that type of defense can still work (i.e. Seton Hall), RU just doesn't have the personnel Agree on needing to force turnovers . . . RU probably going forward for the rest of the year has to play defense like it did against Oregon . . . bend but don't break while relying on the press and...

Basketball Rutgers Basketball falls to Ohio State 80-73

Could be true but Lino has more finesse around the rim to finish around post defenders, whereas JMike typically goes in for a normal layup and gets blocked a lot. I remember he had that nice reverse layup last game that I’ve never seen JMike make or probably even attempt
