    Hope they can get a bit of a streak started. Yesterday reminded me of the old Mitch K. He would be humming along in the early to mid innings, and then the bottom would fallout in just one inning. Let's hope yesterday was just a bit of a fluke.

    Speaking of nick names, Prince had one for one of his better announcing partners, Jim Woods. The Possum. Best announcing team the Bucs ever had in my opinion.

    Midnighter, Sorry I missed your post. I was without power for four plus days due to outages caused by intense wind in my part of the Pittsburgh area. My condolences and best wishes for you and your family. Take care, one of my favorite posters.

    I may have mentioned this one some time ago on the board, but my personal favorite Gibson story was from McCarver. He goes out to talk with Bob. Gibson tells him to get back behind the plate where he belongs, and says the only thing you know about good pitching is that you can't hit it.

    1968 was the year of the pitchers. Didn't Gibson have an ERA of something like 1.12 for the season.

    I don't think it matters much, Bob. My guess is Indiana will fall to mediocrity and Penn State will soon return to the Penn State we've known.
