14 Arrested at PSU for major cocaine trafficking ring at 2 fraternities...

Yes my understanding is that Sigma Chi was "kicked off campus" a few years ago, so the Sigma Chi alumni brothers figured out a way to keep the Penn State chapter alive outside of the governance of the University. My fraternity was also "kicked off campus" for bogus reasons a couple of years...

    RIP Vincent Pastore aka

About 25 years ago, I was staying at a boutique hotel in midtown Manhattan. I’m in an elevator, and Big ***** and a lady friend of his get on the elevator. Big ***** gives me a grin and the shush sign with his finger to his lips, as it appeared that his lady friend was on the clock.

2026 World Cup - General Discussion & Non-USA teams thread

I believe 8 countries have won the WC (Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, England). But I agree with your point that a competition like the WC or March Madness reach a point of diminishing returns once the field expands beyond a certain point. Furthermore, there aren’t...

Although it almost worked, it was pretty clear that England was cooked once Argentina scored the tying goal. It is very tough to try to restart playing offensive football once you have packed it in for 35 minutes.

Spain did an amazing job of shutting down France’s attack. I don’t know that I have seen a team be more disciplined defensively in recent years than Spain. With that said, Spain has been France’s kryptonite. It is quite possible that Argentina or England will have more success against Spain...

FC: New James Franklin article in The Athletic.

It became worse than that. No one realistically thought James could win a game against an evenly matched roster. Once that happened, it was clearly time for a change.

FC/OT: Colorado player casually admits he didn’t watch tape last year - just ‘free-balled’ it.

Colorado football was in an extremely bad position when Deion was hired after the Karl Dorrell debacle. That program was absolutely dead in the water. I don't know that Deion could leave it in worse shape than it was, let alone "much worse" shape. We shall see.

Spain matches up well with France and has had some success against them in recent games. They could definitely win one game against France, as could Argentina who can’t seem to be killed. But France looks really strong and is justifiably the favorite. I see England as a level below those three...

Alternatively, if there isn’t daylight between the defender and the attacker, the ref’s flag stays down and the play continues on the field. I’m ok with that.

2026 World Cup - General Discussion & Non-USA teams thread

Having played the game myself for many years, I think one simple change could make a big difference. Right now, if any part of the attacking player is past the defender, the attacker is deemed to be offsides. I probably haven’t thought this potential rule change through completely. But my...

2026 World Cup - USA team thread

Thanks for the helpful explanation, Tom. I didn't see much in the way of arguing from the US team, so I figured #22 must have been in a legal position at the time of the goal.

2026 World Cup - USA team thread

On the final goal , #22 looked to be offsides on the pass that went across to #26. Then #22 scored the goal on the rebound from #26’s shot. Is the offsides on #22 wiped out once the ball hits a US player? I thought back in the day that #22 was still considered offsides in that situation.
