    Basketball Coaches

    Ponca has hired Quinn Wragge. She's a former player at Crofton and Concordia University. Spent time as an assistant at West Point Beemer. Everything I've heard is she'll do great. Good to see Ponca hire a positive person for the girls in that school, not the case in the fall.

    Last night Pierce and Stanton passed bonds. Plainview's proposed bond failed miserably. Pierce's include an activity center and Stanton's a gymnasium. I believe Stanton's is for an auxiliary gymnasium, not main competition gym. What were some other school bond outcomes...

    2025-2026 NDE Enrollment Numbers & 8 Man Classifications

    So hard to make the jump from 8 man to 11 man especially now that C2 is mostly schools that would have been C1 15 years ago with the old cut off. Plainview-Osmond and Summerland will have a tough time this cycle. What was the old cutoff before 47? Was thinking it was 39 or 41?

    Kudos to the NSAA membership for pushing 8 man cutoff to 55. Unfortunately it should have been there about 10 years ago. Now it should be more around 62 or so IMO.

    9-4-8c is one of the bigger changes in a while. Gives advantage to less skilled players and teams IMO.

    Avery Arens from Crofton, an 8th grader, ran a 5.12.66 in the 1600 mile today. She's 7 seconds away from the Class C state record in the 1600.

    Future alert. Another Arens girl from Crofton will enter the cross country and track scene next year in Class C. As an 8th grader she is already sub 5:20 in the 1600.

    8-Man Football Changes Coming

    I'd be fine with Kearney hosting 6 and 8 man and NCN televising it. Actually like the idea of Kearney hosting it and making it special. As far as the NSAA paying rent for two days and only four games, being that it's the two 8 man games they would be losing I don't think it's that big of a loss.
