    100% this. If you create low cost financing for anything it will lead to overconsumption. Only way to fix this is to remove the (artificial) ability to pay. That’s when these schools will be forced to make the difficult decisions about how to bring costs down. And yes that may include sports.

    We used one. I was skeptical going in but in laws insisted and paid. Very low ROI particularly since we also had a good guidance resource. My biggest advice to all is to figure out big picture as quick as you can (big vs small, region etc). Once you have that sorted it becomes manageable.

    That’s fkn horrible. I could swear preference was mentioned out loud at a RU business school open house this year (in addition to word of mouth). Either way there needs to be no doubt about this. UT is highly selective. No way an alumni’s child should have that outcome.

    Students who have alumni parents are given preference. I’ve heard this directly and from people with ties to admissions.

    100% The business school killed their presentation so I had a chance of getting my daughter there. Main tour was totally botched. Lots of buses and of all the places they could have picked to demo housing, they showed them a dorm on Busch! Now it’s UVA or PSU.
