    Football 2A RPI Thread

Just want to let everyone know.. Murphy has 2 losses on the season and those 2 losses are to 6-0 Franklin who is #3 in 5a rankings in the state and Westside, SC who is ranked 5th in 4A (which is the 2nd biggest classification in SC) and 5-1. Westside also won their state championship in their...

    Way too early 2026 Preview

Murphy loses a couple of key lineman but they will relaod from a solid JV squad from this year. They should have a better passing game as the incoming QB has very good accuracy and is a deep threat throwing the ball so they will be more balanced instead of one-dimentional this season. They...

    Championship calls 1A and 2A

I love where your heart is at (mine is there also) but my mind is picking Tarboro (sad to say). For Robbinsville vs Wilson Prep? I've been going back and forth all because of Preps early season schedule but this is their first time in a state championship game and obviously this isn't...

Western Conference Final: Starmount @ Murphy

Murphy only had 10 against Heard County earlier this year and 14 against AC Reynolds but I understand your point lol.

FINALLY…Tarboro vs. Murphy for the ship…who ya got?

It’s finally official. Crazy how these two teams haven’t met but they haven’t. Obviously Tarboro is the odds on favorite to win. My question is, does Murphy keep it within a couple scores? We shall see.. best of luck to both teams. I heard it’s going to be played in Hickory so should be right...

Western Conference Final: Starmount @ Murphy

He’s just making excuses. He thinks Murphy wouldn’t have an answer for a “passing” game but he forgets the past two opponents Murphy played apparently. He also forgets that two teams were playing in those conditions, not one. Murphy didn’t complete a pass tonight and Brady grant has over...

Western Conference Final: Starmount @ Murphy

The other times they have passed it, it’s been intercepted twice. You act like Murphy hasn’t played against a passing team. Go back and watch Murphy play CSOD and Corvian.

Western Conference Final: Starmount @ Murphy

Murphy has shut it down in the 2nd half. They’ve ran the ball several times and all be negative plays.

    They are.

Western Conference Final: Starmount @ Murphy

Murphy has played spread teams who pass the past two games (which is a different style then they are use to play) and this week they finally get back to normal, physical football. This game to me has all the makings of how the Robbinsville game went earlier in the season when they game to The...

    Girls Basketball Cherokee basketball

I just saw a Charlotte newspaper had Cherokee girls ranked #2 in all classifications. Pretty impressive for a small 1A school (non-charter) with less then 300 students.

Western Conference Final: Starmount @ Murphy

With the way the weather is looking, looks like this may be a one-dimensional game. May just be a pure running game and who can stop the run and be most successful with the run...

Western Conference Final: Starmount @ Murphy

Murphy is averaging over 500yds rushing in the playoffs so something has to give here lol. Also, don’t think Murphy’s run defense is getting too much attention. They are only allowing 50yds a game in the playoffs.. granted the previous two teams were pass heavy teams but still impressive...

Western Conference Final: Starmount @ Murphy

If memory serves me correctly… they have met twice, both in the playoffs. In 2001, Murphy beat starmount 42-13 and in 2002, Starmount beat Murphy 38-12. Deena would need to confirm but the series is tied I think.
