52 is SRC number for next two year cycle not exactly well below 47.
Archbishop Bergan has had 8 man numbers forever and opted up to 11 man I believe always. Unless your talking public schools that number doesn't mean the same thing. Yeah you could say they have a lot of boys or possibly a good job of screening applications.
I count 6 schools opting down that in the last cycle played 11 man. Combined they are bringing 6 wins with them from last season, which 3 are from facing each other. If two of those ineligible schools were placed in my schools district I would not be too worried. Football is an attitude sport...
Amen! Unfortunately 10 years down the road alot of these schools may be gone and as much as I hate to say it possibly this sport. Sad situation but family farms are disappearing everyday and those that still exist are getting bigger with the same amount of employees. Not a population builder!
There weren't this many then. Numbers I would guess will change things. I believe the intent in letting them go was the belief schools would not continue playing non state sanctioned but apparently didn't/doesn't matter to them.
I would think an actually sanctioned state championship would mean something? Doubt the state wants to see other sports pulling away from their sanctions. It is more about what does the NSAA have to gain by keeping control. If 30 teams are competing in an unsanctioned activity doesn't look...
Anyone think if a number of teams join the 6 man rank nsaa will step in and take over again or place sanctions on other school sports? Seems like numbers are a wide spread problem across the state. Or state possibly force coops/consolidations by pulling state funds?
What is the difference between blowing out a weak team in week 9 of regular season or game one of the playoffs? Gives somebody a chance and there are no deserving teams that get left out. Only people who should complain are the ones who only get 8 games (left out of playoffs) because they are...
They did it was called 32 team playoffs and everybody cried about bad teams (those with poor records) getting in. So now we are back to 16 team playoff and those teams will be left out.
Buff-alo I understand your point my point is some schools do opt down that should not be there. They should be competing for a 11 man title instead of opting down to beat up on smaller schools. Doesn't make sense to go 8-0 and then sit home and watch the playoffs. Two years down the road make...
You also have the ineligible 8 man teams like Friend about 10-12 years ago and Johnson Brock 5-7 years ago who ran the table destroying their competition opting down. What does that prove? Not the best scenario for an eligible 8 man team to have to face ineligible teams to try and reach the...
