This is so sad and tragic. And preventable…

    Because salmoning is absurdly dangerous.

Yep, someone is charged with improperly handling their vehicle, resulting in the death of two people. Law enforcement clearly thinks the vehicle driver was at fault. So blame the driver.

    U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion

The elderly and children are way different in age and way too similar in logic and reasoning.

    U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion

This is interesting because it is the same approach I have heard people say Iran is doing to Trump until the midterms. So both are pulling the economic levers they can control and try to outlast the other side. Fun.**

    U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion

I am shocked that people dont consider many of his actions/declarations/policies to be disastrous. - His inability to understand the difference between a trade deficit and a subsidy has resulted in a near 2 year long economic fight with Canada, that has continually resulted in him saying in...

    U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion

That is quite literally what we are living through. You phrased your comment as if this isnt what has been happening. There is no need to maybe try it...its happening constantly.

I dont know if the other poster's comments are all correct, partially correct, or basically totally wrong. Just gonna say that your response here is quite fair and and well worded.

    U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion

Has it totally 17ed our healthcare? Our system as 17ed before it, which is why it exists at all. The system is 17ed right now, yes. Just not sure you have correctly identified the single reason for it being 17ed. It was unaffordable before. Costs were astronomical before. Countless people...

    U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion

There aren't even 80,000 total employees at the IRS, much less 80-120k of agents. And if the entire IRS is eliminated, since there wouldn't be any employees, how the 17 are taxes handled? People on the right who irrationally hate the IRS(which is law enforcement) and want to eliminate the...

    U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion

This is totally unhinged. - You cited the partial privitization of social security as a sings when it would have incrteased he debt. - Then you claimed eliminating any immigration for 5 years is a good idea and wouldn't academically and economically crush the country. - Adding in the rest...

    U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion

    - Sure, let's balance the budget. - Sure, let's reform entitlements. As a start, lets get everyone paying the same % for SS, but not increase benefit caps. That is a reform many would support. - I don't know hat fiduciary controls you are referring to, but if it's a legitimate process that...

    U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion

You cited the partial privitization of social security as an example of how when someone did try to reduce the debt, people lost their mind. My response was just that your example is one that seems to have actually increased debt, if it had been implemented. What you are bringing up now...

    U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion

Would partially privatizing Social Security have saved the government much money? And how would privatizing Social Security have impacted the finances of citizens? A quick search resulted in Google saying partially privatizing would have actually increased debt. Used bandaid on a torn off limb.

    U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion

It’s getting about that time for us to mint some $10 trillion coins. Hand out a couple of those two the holders of our debt, and walk away. Joking…but not…but yeah, I guess.
