    Former Riverheads Coach Demacio Returns for Memorial Service

    I remember quite a few years ago a gentleman popped in on the boards and told a story regarding the two PM-Riverheads games played in 1976. It was both humorous and interesting. Not sure if he still lurks the boards here but I think he played center for the Gladiators that season.

    That's doable then. Back in the day I seem to recall a choice between a hot dog, kettle corn or nachos. So definitely a step in the right direction!

    Are their concessions still as lame as they used to be? We'd always end up leaving during the grueling eternity between games to go get some grub because their food selections were always so lousy. Glad to hear they got the Stagg Bowl back at least.

    I loved it because it more often than not brought about matchups we had never seen before and will, in many cases, probably never see again. The school I followed sat right on the border to dividing line and it was so cool to see them playing Essex, Northumberland, Charles City etc..

    I didn't like the cross bracketing at first, but then it grew on me after a while. Overall I liked the East/West breakdown more than the 4 region breakdown.

    I think Sussex Central will keep it close early but eventually Riverheads will pull away. Something along the lines of 42-8 final but maybe 21-8 at half.

    The last time I listened to one of their games they had like 7 penalties and something like 3 personal foul calls on one drive, ending with one of the players getting ejected. They went from being close to scoring a TD to being backed up near their own end zone with a 4th and 60 or something...

    They've gotten worse, if that is possible. 2020 really put a hurting on that sites ability to give halfway accurate scores over an entire season. And for as bad as their football results are, check out any other sport, it's beyond hope.

    Disappointing to hear. Things were looking so "up" last season with an eye on the future. Hard to believe there were people on here still dogging Baker out even then. And so it goes in BV. It sounds like the admin is once again in shambles there if what I'm hearing is true.
