VHSL Schools Name Changes in 2021

Ah yes, we need to divide each other up even more. I forgot about that socialist talking point. Whatever. Point stands, most of these immigrants are hispanic. And most will get lumped in with whitey, which is great, welcome to the club folks.

Mostly hispanic. They get to be lumped in with us white devils as well I guess. I know my lovely hispanic wife takes a lot of racism in her line of work and that racism isnt from whitey.

    State Championship History

I noticed on FSF that Liberty of Bedford was mentioned in the 1950's. I believe they were Bedford High up until 1964-65ish? I dont recall which teams data I was looking at when I saw that.

    State Championship History

Lol I believe it was Glen Allens/Hermitage's coach back in the late 40's/early 50's who managed to tick off all his opposing coaches. Apparently leading up to games he would downplay his own team saying there was no way they were going to win, other team was so much better, etc.. And then when...

Do you happen to know what the original Salem teams were known as?

    6 Man Football

Here is another site you all might enjoy if you havent checked it out before. It deals strictly with pro and semi-pro leagues. And while NFL/AFL/CFL stuff is easy to come by, some of the smaller leagues from back in the 30's-70's is not. Lots of Virginia based teams scattered throughout...

    6 Man Football

Yep, 6 man and 8 man is a nice concept where it is actually needed. Virginia isnt one of those places though. Adjusting the enrollment levels in 1A to a common sense cut off number would increase interest at that level rather quickly.

    6 Man Football

I recall reading a few years back an article about 6 man in the state of Michigan. One of the problems they were seeing was schools with 300 kids enrolled were being allowed to drop to 6 man because of "low numbers" and then magically fielding teams with 30 kids on them while the schools that...

    6 Man Football

I think you're right. IIRC the QB must stay behind the line of scrimmage as long as he has the ball. Which is why you see them almost always pitch the ball back to the running back. The RB is allowed to pass or run.

There used to be a guy up in Maryland that kept fairly accurate stats for those schools. But his site has really tapered off in recent years and I'm not sure if he's still around or not. North Carolina had a great website but the gentleman who compiled the stats and put that site together...

    6 Man Football

Quantico and St. Stephen's School also played 6 man for a while. Natural Bridge played 6 man for a season or two. Dunlap out of Alleghany County along with Fincastle, Eagle Rock and Colonial out of Botetourt County played both 6 man and 11 man at different times as well. Millboro out of Bath...

I'd love to see team photos and old pics from long gone schools added to that site. Perhaps add stories about teams or seasons. Ambitious yes, but would bring those old teams alive.

Oh goodness, East Mont?? So one good season in...an entire programs history including Shawsville? No real hate on East Mont though. I sat up in the stands and cheered my heart out for them in 2010. Alas, it was not meant to be. And Poston pulled a Poston and was gone and that was it. And I...
