Come on people. The kick was wide. That means it didn't go BETWEEN the uprights. Some seem not to understand this but that means the kick missed. You get no points for a missed kick.
Both teams played on the same field. The goal posts didn't magically get wider for the Salem kick.

In addition, I thought the sportsmanship on the field was awesome. You could tell there was a high level of respect for each team, by each team. Guys pulling each other up on opposite teams, smacks on the helmets after good plays, etc.

Great game by the kids on both sides. Congrats to Salem for the win in which not many thought they could pull off.
Saw a ton of talent on the field tonight.
And the point I was trying to make is that it is the choice of the two teams playing the game, not what was originally suggested as far as the choice belonging to the higher seeded team and that team "graciously" agreeing to what might be a better time for the visiting team.

Guessing you simply missed the post where posters JF said VHSL gave Jefferson Forest the OPTION of playing on Friday instead of playing on Saturday, since they had a higher seed?

jfcav1...with all due respect, I believe your information is incorrect. Why would JF be the only team given the choice to play Friday night?
There is a reason the VHSL lists the game schedule the way they do. There is no "option" for the higher seed to choose to play the semi-final game on...
Looks like I may have found the source of the confusion...or at least part of it. In covering the Salem win at Champe, RT erroneously reported that Salem would be playing JF FRIDAY @ 7pm...
If you look at the VHSL site, it clearly states the semi's are to be played on Dec 5th for the 2015 season and Dec 3rd for the 2016 season.
Not sure why the confusion for a Friday date but I think someone got their info mixed up.
