I understand the reasoning in being conservative to keep the turnovers down but at some point you have to try and put some points on the board. If LSU wins by a touchdown and Relf throws no picks or LSU wins by 3 touchdowns and Relf throws3 picks. What difference does it make? It's still a loss.
If you were watching on tv, the camera would zoom in on Relf when he looked to the sideline. You could tell on several occasions that he was not happy with the plays that were coming in.
