If Kentucky had gone almost 40 years without a title

First UofK game was at Freedom hall. Uncle took me and IU beat us by two. Had freshman teams back then and still remember those candy stripe warm ups of IU. Think Grevey was playing on the freshman team.

    For those questioning Mark Pope

The only thing that has disappointed me about pope is when he was endorsed by Pitino, I was hoping he would be a Pitino clone.

    I sympathize with Pope

I think it is too early to judge Pope. he had 2 great wins against Gonzaga and Duke, but some really bad losses in the SEC. I guess the SEC has exposed our lack of athleticism and injuries have definitely hurt us, but the team doesn't seem to be executing like they were earlier in the year. At...

Early take on the Pope era

******* or not, best damn coach this university has seen in the past 50 years and probably the next 50.

    MAJOR WINTER STORM

Live in Louisville, last big freezing rain storm, no electricity for 7 days. Temperatures in the single digits for several days, wish I could afford a good generator.

    Does Reed Shepperd return?

He's coming back, he plays for the name on the jersey, he'll make plenty of money in his lifetime. Don't forget Cals gone and think Jeff is going to try to help Pope.

Poll: The national media has weighed in. Kentucky should be “humbled” by the hiring of Pope. Are you “humbled”?

I'm humbled by Mitch Barnhart's lack of effort in the coaching search. He's either going to look like a genius or a damn fool here in a couple of years.

He probably won't be Kenny Payne bad, but

The question is why did Mitch go it alone?

You hire the best available coach (mercenary?), not the guy whose main claim to fame is he played at Kentucky. I'm not sure what that has to do with his coaching ability. Like I said, hope he works out.

    Kentucky Fans went from

Basketball is a business and Mitch Barnhart is the CEO at Kentucky. If you made this move in the business world, Mitch would be out of a job. How do you run off Calipari and get turned down by Drew, Hurley was never an option and go straight to Pope is what I can't understand. If supposedly you...

As I feared, Barnhart is failing

It's just not the board, almost all the major figure heads in the media thinks its one of the top 3 jobs, if not the top job. Hurley was never coming, so we missed on Drew, still more good hires out there. Unfortunately, what is focused on in the media is the fishbowl that is Kentucky...

Ever heard of Chris Renkin at 247 Chrishoops? Reporting Drew to Kentucky.

So, if Drew turns down the job, Hurley says no and Donovan says no thanks. Then what?

    Drew’s gonna be the guy

I'll bet it's Drew, he's the safe bet. Barney doesn't have the balls to swing for the fences.

    1.Pitino 2.Donovan 3.Miller. 4. Pearl

Pitino if he had stayed would have had way more than 1 title. Pitino started with nothing and had Ky in championship game in 1996-1998. Pitino could coach, cal could recruit.
