    This era did nothing for the other sports programs at JM. I mean they were borrowing other team’s equipment to play baseball and the football program was basically non existent. A school community is, or should be, more than just one program.

    What’s REALLY unfair is that the VHSL gave the hammer to Hayfield HS football but turns a blind eye to JM basketball. And Hayfield was only getting players from other schools in their area, not nationally like JM. Bunch of VHSL hypocrites…

    I get it if those kids on that team are predominantly originally from the Richmond Metro area. But I see posts where they transfer from other states and other cities. It’s not like this is a homegrown team. Or is that not correct?

    I seem to recall that a similar situation occurred in a MIDDLE school game last year. I might have the wrong schools but I think it was a Clarke Co Middle School and a Winchester Middle School. Regardless of who or where, this dramatic escalation of incidents and frequency is alarming.

    Yes. Two years ago, MC won the regional championship, then lost a 2 point game to Amelia. Amelia then got hammered by JM. If there was such a thing as a “good” loss, that Amelia game was it.
