If Santiago doesn’t get hurt for Palatine, Warren would have been out in the 1st Rd. The Pirates had a real nice team this year but when you lose your #1 QB it becomes much more difficult to win.
The back-up was the QB when this group was freshmen and sophomores and they were undefeated. With that said, this is a big step up for him and with playoff pressure no less.
Palatine. Without their starting QB (broken left arm) and facing a battle tested Warren club, the Pirates better be hitting on all cylinders or it could be one and done.
I can see Oles running against Notre Dame HS in the 1st Round and attempting to run over a defensive back. He went down and on that play their chance to make PHS Football history (win a state title) ended.
Let me throw in that the lack of an adjustment by the PHS Coaching Staff allowing one wideout to dominate a guy half his size for the whole game is not a ref issue. They needed to double the one receiver and PHS wins by at least a TD. The coaching MUST get better.
